OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE AND METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An optical pickup device and a method thereof are provided to performs phase delay coating in an existing element without using a QWP(Quarter Wave Plate) and coverts a plurality of lights having each different wavelength from liner polarization light to a circular polarization light. CONSTITUTION: An optical pickup device includes a light source(11), a first phase delay(13), a second phase delay(15), an objective lens, and an photo detecting unit(19). The light source selectively outputs a plurality of lights having each different wavelength. The first phase delay phase delays the light as much as each different phase difference. The second phase delay converts the phase-delayed lights into a circular light by phase delaying. The objective lens examines the light converted into the circular light to a recording medium. The photo detecting unit detects the light reflected from the recording medium.
