PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a support fitting of a work safety device for a passenger conveyor which holds a tether of the work safety device or a carrier cable for connecting the tether without deteriorating work efficiency during rail installation or maintenance. SOLUTION: The support fitting 30A of the work safety device for the passenger conveyor includes a body holding member 36 having a tread board hook portion 36A inserted into a step body detachable hole 14d and contactedly disposed on the rear surface of a tread board 14A, and having a screwing portion 36B extended from the tread board hook portion 36A and projected from the step body detachable hole 14d; a body 31 having on a surface thereof a penetrated hole 31a, and a through-hole 32a for inserting the screwing portion 36B, a rear surface of the body being contactedly disposed on a tread surface 14a of the tread board 14A by passing the screwing portion 36B into the through-hole 32a; and a nut 37 screwed onto a projected portion extended from the through-hole 32a of the screwing portion 36B, thereby fasteningly fixing the tread board 14A and the body 31 between the nut and the tread board hook portion 36A.
