PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short range radar device which, in spite of a simple configuration, makes short range measurements at high resolutions. SOLUTION: The short range radar device is equipped with dual transceiving units 10, 20, and a processing unit 30. One transceiving unit 10 outputs a first intermediate frequency signal V<SB>1</SB>that has a frequency equal to the difference between the frequency of transmission waves and that of reception waves. The other transceiving unit 20 emits transmission waves with a second frequency, which is different from a first frequency, at the same time as does the transceiving unit 10, and also outputs a second intermediate frequency signal V<SB>2</SB>that has a frequency equal to the difference between the frequency of transmission waves and that of reception waves. The processing unit 30 outputs a piece of data which represents the distance L to a target 100 on the basis of the results of the comparison of these intermediate frequencies V<SB>1</SB>, V<SB>2</SB>.
