<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electromagnetic wave-shieldable optical filter for a display, the method carrying out an exposure process for a conductive layer at low cost with high production efficiency; and to provide the optical filter for the display. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the optical filter for the display includes a step of conducting scanning, with intermittent irradiation of a laser beam, along a side end part or the vicinity thereof of a functional layer surface of a laminate including a transparent substrate, a conductive layer formed over the whole surface thereof, and at least one functional layer formed over the whole conductive layer surface, and of removing the functional layer in an irradiated area to expose the conductive layer, wherein the irradiation of the laser beam is executed to array linearly a plurality of converged lights 41 orthogonally to a scanning direction, on the functional layer surface.
