PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of installing and adjusting the guide shoe of an elevator which can prevent abnormal wear and noise from occurring even if a fixed guide shoe is used. SOLUTION: One of fixed guide shoes 5 is selected as a guide shoe to be adjusted. Bolts 6 which fix the guide shoe to be adjusted are loosened to a temporarily locked state. Then, a counterweight 2 is run over a predetermined distance. In the running step of adjustment, the remaining fixed guide shoes 5 are kept fixed to the counterweight 2. Then, the bolts 6 are tightened at a position where the running step of adjustment is completed to fix the guide shoe to be adjusted (fixing step).
