PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for an internal combustion engine for excellently lubricating between a piston and a cylinder, and preventing an increase in oil consumption and blow-by of combustion gas. SOLUTION: This piston 1 for the internal combustion engine inserted into a cylinder C of the reciprocating internal combustion engine, comprises a ring groove 40 formed by extending in the peripheral direction by recessing a part of an outer peripheral surface part to the inner diameter side and storing a piston ring R, and an oil passage 100 for supplying oil injected from an oil jet to an oil supply hole 101 arranged in a surface part 42 opposed to a crank side surface part of the piston ring in the ring groove.
