PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed woven or knitted fabric on whose front and back sides patterns symmetrical to each other have been printed, wherein the patterns have different colors on the front and back sides and to provide a printing method therefor. SOLUTION: The printing method includes the first printing step for printing first printing paste on a first printing site from one of the front and back sides of the woven or knitted fabric, the subsequent second printing step for printing second printing paste on a second printing site from the same side as the printing side of the first printing step in a state superposed on the first printing site, and the subsequent third printing step for printing third printing paste from the same side as the printing side of the second printing step in a state superposed to the first and second printing sites, wherein the second and third printing pastes each contain reactive dyes developed in different colors. The third printing paste contains an alkali catalyst, and the first printing paste contains an acid or an acid-generating agent for neutralizing the alkali catalyst. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
