PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prepreg, which allows formation of a lightweight fiber-reinforced composite material having excellent appearance, while exhibiting excellent mechanical strength and toughness, and to provide a method for producing the prepreg, and a fiber-reinforced composite material using the prepreg. SOLUTION: The prepreg is obtained by impregnating a split yarn fabric, which serves as reinforcing fibers, with a polymerizable composition containing a cycloolefin monomer and a polymerization catalyst, and polymerizing the composition. The fiber-reinforced composite material is obtained by curing the prepreg. The prepreg may be laminated with another prepreg or another material and cured to obtain a fiber-reinforced composite material laminate. The prepreg can be produced by impregnating a split yarn fabric serving as reinforcing fibers with a polymerizable composition containing a cycloolefin monomer and a polymerization catalyst, and then polymerizing the composition.
