PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit fluctuation of fuel pressure supplied to a fuel injection valve provided in an exhaust passage. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 includes: the fuel injection valve 21 provided in the exhaust passage 12; a supply pump 4 supplying fuel; and a fuel pressure compensating device 30 arranged between the supply pump 4 and the fuel injection valve 21 and compensating fuel pressure supplied to the fuel injection valve 21. The fuel pressure supplied to the fuel injection valve 21 can be compensated, allowing the fluctuation of the fuel pressure to be inhibited and an amount of the fuel injected from the fuel injection valve to be accurately controlled.
