PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lens barrel that controls the drive of a lens frame with high accuracy, by reducing degradation in accuracy of detecting an encoder. SOLUTION: The lens barrel includes: an annular oscillatory wave driving means for rotationally driving a moving body by using a vibrator which is vibrated by means of piezoelectric conversion; a first connection ring rotationally driven integrally with the moving body; a second connection ring rotated integrally with a manual operating means; an output member rotated by the rotating operation of a first or second connection ring; and a holding member for holding each of the members. In the lens barrel, a lens group that advances or retracts in the direction of an optical axis is provided. The output member has: an output transmitting section that transmits driving force to a drive force transmitting section which advances or retracts the lens group in the direction of the optical axis by the rotation of the output member; and part of the encoder for detecting the rotation information of the output member, and the output member and the holding member slidably fit together in two areas, that is, the first and second fitting parts separated from each other in the direction of the optical axis.
