Hydraulic Damper for a Vehicle Steering System

The damper includes a pressure tube divided, by a piston, into a compression chamber (CC) and a traction chamber (CT) which communicate with each other through the piston; a rod having an end retained to the piston and an opposite end external to the pressure tube; a reservoir tube external to the pressure tube and defining therewith a hydraulic fluid reservoir (R) in a controlled fluid communication with the compression chamber (CC); a fluid communication (F) between the traction chamber (CT) and the reservoir (R); and a control valve (V) mounted in the fluid communication (F), for releasing and blocking the latter as a function of the pressure level of the hydraulic fluid in the traction chamber (CT).
