PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the imaging time while preventing image quality degradation when performing synchronous imaging in synchronism with the pulsation of the heart, in a nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) apparatus. SOLUTION: The electrocardiographic waveform of a subject is detected. A value including at least AT<SB>d</SB>among data gathering timing DT<SB>s</SB>in systole, data gathering time AT<SB>s</SB>in the systole, data gathering timing DT<SB>d</SB>in diastole and data gathering time AT<SB>d</SB>in the diastole is calculated on the basis of a detected heart rate, and nuclear magnetic resonance signals are measured from the subject using the calculated value including at least the AT<SB>d</SB>.
