PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome disadvantages in a conventional solid-state image pickup device in which transfer efficiency for transferring electric charge stored in a photoelectric converter to a floating diffuser is low and it is difficult to improve an S/N ratio. SOLUTION: A solid-state image pickup device includes a photoelectric converter for generating signal charge according to incident light and storing it, a charge voltage converter for converting the signal charge transferred from the photoelectric converter to a voltage, and a charge transfer part for transferring the signal charge from the photoelectric converter to the charge voltage converter. The charge transfer part includes a first gate electrode located on the side of the photoelectric converter and a second gate electrode located on the side of the charge voltage converter and having a channel width narrower than that of the first gate electrode.
