PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein a red dotted pattern, or the like, applied to clothing may be determined as a red-eye phenomenon and wrong corrections may be performed at times, and that the end portions of lips may be determined as a red-eye phenomenon and wrong correction may be performed at times. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes an imaging means 111 for producing image data; a facial upper-half region detecting means 110 for detecting an upper-half region, in the face of a person included in the image data; a red-eye region detecting means 110 for detecting a red-eye region, wherein a red-eye phenomenon occurs which is included in the image data; and a red-eye processing means 110 for performing red-eye processing on the red-eye region that is present within the upper-half region in the face of the person.
