PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively detect only a microorganism without requiring an expensive microscope or much labor. SOLUTION: The microorganism-detecting device for detecting a fluorescently stained target microorganism from an image of a sample includes a division image-forming means for forming the division image by dividing a first sample image obtained by extracting a fluorescent color (a first color) of the target microorganism by a second sample image obtained by extracting the colors except the first color, a subtraction image-forming meas for forming the subtraction image by subtracting the second sample image from the first sample image, a multiplication image-forming means for forming the multiplication image by multiplying the division image with the subtraction image, and a detecting means for detecting a color region satisfying a prescribed condition set as the first color as the target microorganism from the multiplication image.
