PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stack weights having a shape in consideration of safety and ease of handling, without decreasing a total weight of the weights. SOLUTION: In elevator balance weights in which the plurality of weights 20 having a weight balanced with the weight of a car are stacked one upon another in a frame guided by a guide rail, these weights 20 are comprised of the weights 20 formed by filling concrete 22 into an iron frame 21 and solidifying the concrete. A recessed portion 24 serving as a handle is formed in the iron frame 21. Each weight is made up of blocks obtained by dividing the single elongated weight into three or more, and the individual blocks are engaged with each other through recessed portions and projected portions into the single weight. Further, an intermediate longitudinal frame is disposed at a mid-portion of right and left longitudinal frames constituting the frame so that the elongated weight can be divided into halves and stacked one upon another in two rows in side-by-side arrangement. Further, as the weights, the weights having a weight that cannot be handled with manpower, and a several number of these weights are laterally or vertically arranged and stacked one upon another in the frame.
