According to one embodiment of the present invention, a device for supporting multicast broadcast service comprises: a ranging determination unit for determining an action state according to a ranging request of a terminal; a multicast broadcast service (MBS) determination unit for determining whether or not the terminal includes an MBS flow; and a message generation unit for generating a ranging request (RNG-REQ) message on the basis of the action state and the MBS flow, wherein if the terminal includes the MBS flow, the message generation unit enables the ranging purpose indication TLV of the ranging request message to include an MBS indication bit for indicating that the terminal is an MBS terminal.
