<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change displayed translation for a word in a text. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic dictionary 1 includes: a display part 40; a flash ROM (Read Only Memory) 80 storing a dictionary DB 820 of an English-Japanese dictionary and English text data 830; and a CPU (Central Processing Unit) 20 displaying text data 830 designated by a user on the display part 40, retrieving description information of a headword corresponding to each word in the designated text data 830 from the dictionary DB 820, and displaying a part of the description information in a corresponding position of the word as Japanese translation. When any translation is selected by the user as translation to be changed, the CPU 20 detects the word displayed in the corresponding position, retrieves the description information of the headword corresponding to the word from the dictionary DB 820, and displays it on the display part 40. When a part of the description information is selected by the user as desired translation, the CPU 20 replaces the translation to be changed with the desired translation, and updates the content of display control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
