<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity by determining conveying interval of sheets, by taking into account the margin region, other than an image forming region formed on the sheets. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus which forms an image on the sheet by using inputted image data and includes a detection means for detecting the margin region outside the image forming region formed on the sheet; a setting means for setting the conveying interval of the sheets to a reference value when a total of the length of the margin region in the conveying direction, on a rear end side in the conveying direction of the sheet and the length of the margin region in the conveying direction in a leading end side in the conveying direction of the sheet that is conveyed next to the sheet is equal to or smaller than the reference value, and setting the conveying interval to be the reference value or less when the total is greater than the reference value; and a conveying means for conveying the sheet at the conveying interval that is set by the setting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
