PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which is stably actuated without causing icicle-like fixing irregularity and without causing an increase in load torque by solving a problem that, in a belt fixing type fixing device where a fixing belt is pressed on a fixing member by a pressing member, it is necessary to bring a separation roller that presses the fixing belt on the fixing member with the pressing member close to the pressing member, however, if they are excessively close to each other, torque exerted on a driving means for driving a fixing roller is increased. SOLUTION: A positional relation between the pressing member that presses the fixing belt on the fixing member and the separation roller can be varied.
