PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for binding a to-be-bound body by separating a binder from a binder connected body of the binders of which the flat surfaces form approximately a C shape. SOLUTION: This binding apparatus includes; two sheets of plate-like members 22 an 23 which are arranged in parallel by a spacer 21; a guide member which guides the binder connected body, for which the plurality of binders having the C-shaped flat surface are connected, to a space between the plate-like members; a first vertical notched passage 28 which vertically descends from the upper end surface of the plate-like member; a horizontal notched passage 29 which horizontally extends from the first vertical notched passage; a second vertical notched passage 30 which vertically extends from the horizontal notched passage; and an expanded notched port 31 which is expanded and formed at the central section of the plate-like member from the final end section of the second vertical notched passage. In the binding apparatus, while the neck binding section of the to-be-bound body is held by both hands and is made to pass through the first vertical notched passage, the horizontal notched passage and the second vertical notched passage in order while making it cross, the to-be-bound body is bound by the binder.
