The motor vehicle air conditioning system (7) is provided with a housing (9), air channel (18) for passage of air, and a refrigerant evaporator (14) for cooling the air. A spraying device (1) is provided for cleaning the refrigerant evaporator with a cleaning fluid, particularly a cleaning liquid, so that the cleaning fluid is sprayed on the refrigerant evaporator. The cleaning fluid is sprayed directly on the refrigerant evaporator by the spraying device. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a refrigerant evaporator.
