The apparatus has a closed cell foam mat (40) covering a part of an outer surface of the apparatus. The closed cell foam mat partially consists of a water-repellent or water-absorbing material and/or consists of a flexibly deformable material. The closed cell foam mat is partially fastened by adhesive, where the adhesive includes a double-sided adhesive tape (50). A lining is adapted to appearance of an outer wall of the apparatus. The closed cell foam mat exhibits material thickness of 10mm. An independent claim is also included for a side by side equipment including a refrigerating and/or freezing apparatus.
