<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for manufacturing an FRP string-like object which has an approximately rectangular shape having a shorter side of the FRP of less than 0.3 mm and coated with a thermoplastic resin, and is usable for a tension member for a drop optical cable and the like. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the approximately rectangular FRP string-like object coated with the thermoplastic resin, a bundle of reinforcing fibers composed of organic synthetic fibers is pulled in the unwinding direction from the bobbin around which the bundle of the reinforcing fibers is wound, and the bundle of the reinforcing fibers is opened to the substantially-untwisted state at a tension of≥40 cN to≤280 cN per bundle of reinforcing fibers and is introduced to an impregnation vessel in which the thermoplastic resin is accommodated. In the coating process (3), the coating is conducted by decompressing the inside of the conical thermoplastic resin formed by extruding the polyolefine-based thermoplastic resin having a MI of≥2 g/10 minutes from an annular die. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
