PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical drive device which can switch over to a tracking servo by a DPP method upon an irradiation point of an optical beam coming into a non-recorded area when reproducing a disk while maintaining an on-track state by performing tracking servo by a DPD method. SOLUTION: The optical disk device reproduces an optical disk having a land and a groove, and includes a tracking-error-signal generating part 61-1 that generates a tracking error signal TE<SB>DPD</SB>by using a DPD method, a tracking-error-signal generating part 61-2 that generates a tracking error signal TE<SB>DPP</SB>by using a DPP method, a tracking servo part 62 that controls an optical system, and a determining part 63 that determines that the irradiation point of an optical beam is a non-recorded area. The tracking servo part 62 switches control based on the tracking error signal TE<SB>DPD</SB>to control based on the tracking error signal TE<SB>DPP</SB>according to the result of ongoing determination of the determining part 63.
