PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contact noise generated from plate materials constituting a humidification element of an operating humidifier. SOLUTION: The humidifier includes a first side plate, a second side plate, a connection part for connecting the first side plate with the second side plate and the humidification element sandwiched between the first side plate and the second side plate. The humidification element is constituted by staking the plurality of plate materials having a plurality of projections formed on plate faces so that the projections formed on the respective plate materials are superposed in the stacking direction. A pressing member for pressing the stacked plate materials from the stacking direction is provided in at least either one of the side plates. The plate material pressing position of the pressing member is set to be a position on a straight line interconnecting the projections adjacent to each other out of the plurality of projections.
