PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbine protection device which can interrupt backflow of steam from a deaerator to a turbine even if a check valve provided between the deaerator and the turbine can not interrupt steam flowing between the deaerator and the turbine completely. SOLUTION: In this turbine protection device 20, the turbine 2 driven by steam generated by a boiler 13 is connected to the deaerator 5 heating, deaerating and storing condensation with steam condensed by a condenser 18 through an extraction steam introduction pipe 3 with the check valve 3a disposed, and further, the extraction steam introduction pipe 3 is provided with a shutdown valve device 12 shutting off steam flowing between the turbine 2 and the deaerator 5. A control unit 11 controlling the shutdown valve device 12 closes the shutdown valve device 12 when a differential pressure resulted from subtracting a pressure of extraction steam from the turbine 2 from a pressure within the deaerator 5 becomes greater than or equal to a first predetermined value, and interrupts steam flowing from the deaerator 5 toward the turbine 2 by a stop valve 12a of the shutdown valve device 12.
