PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a snow melting effect by utilizing ground heat and underground water heat to efficiently raise the temperature of water stored for melting snow, and melting snow with the stored water raised in temperature. SOLUTION: A snow melting system 1 includes a water storage tank 3, a plurality of heat collecting materials 6, 7, 8, a pumping pipe 9, a lift pump 10, and a sprinkler 11. The inside of the water storage tank 3 is partitioned into an inner tank 4 of large volume and an outer tank 5 of small volume, and the inner tank 4 and the outer tank 5 communicate in part with each other to form the water storage tank 3 of inner-outer two-tank type. One end side of the heat collecting materials 6, 7, 8 is connected to the outer tank 5, and the pumping pipe 9 is disposed submerged in the stored water in the outer tank 5. The outer tank 5 is formed of a heat conductive member to absorb ground heat around the outer tank 5 and to transmit the ground heat to the stored water in the outer tank 5 together with ground heat transmitted through the heat collecting materials 6, 7, 8. One or both of the heat collecting materials 6, 7, 8 and outer tank 5 are submerged in an underground water vein to transmit the underground water heat to the stored water in the outer tank 5.
