PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder preventing paper from being conveyed in a state of being tilted in a conveyance direction, and enhancing the strength of a contact member biased toward a mounting surface; an image forming apparatus; and an image reading apparatus. SOLUTION: The paper feeder includes the mounting surface 32a; a stationary guide for guiding conveyance of the paper P by contacting with one side end of the paper P; a movable guide 3 for adjusting the distance to the stationary guide, and guiding the conveyance of the paper P by contacting with the other side end of the paper P; a feed roller 25 rotatingly driven by contacting with the paper surface at a position closer to the stationary guide; a contact roller 6 disposed in the movable guide 3 and contacting with the paper surface; and a torsion coil spring for biasing the contact roller 6 toward the mounting surface 32a. In the contact roller 6, a contact point N2 against the paper surface in the contact roller 6 is disposed at a downstream position in a conveyance direction of the paper P, than a contact point N1 against the paper surface in the feed roller 25.
