Disclosed is a network apparatus such that functions can be restricted in special cases such as theft. The network apparatus is provided with: an acquiring means for acquiring identification information of peripheral devices able to communicate with the network apparatus; an index value calculating means for calculating index values for estimating the presence rates of peripheral devices; a holding means for holding, for each peripheral device, identification information acquired in the past and the index value calculated by the index value calculating means; and a difference identifying means for identifying differences between the current identification information of the peripheral devices acquired by the acquiring means and the past identification information of peripheral devices held by the holding means; and an assessing means. The assessment means assesses whether or not access should be restricted, on the basis of the index values of the devices identified as being different by the difference identifying means.
