The overall invention relates to physical training and sport, and also to therapeutic and rehabilitative medicine, in particular to apparatuses and training devices intended for active exercises directed towards developing and restoring the ligaments, muscles, joints and bones of the lower extremities. The apparatus is in the form of a platform with an attachment ensuring rigid fixing of the foot, wherein the length of the platform from the toe of the foot as far as the front edge of the platform can vary within the limits of 100 to 350 mm, and the length of the platform from the heel of the foot as far as the rear edge of the platform can vary within the limits of 50 to 150 mm. The training method comprises carrying out a cycle of exercises using the above-mentioned apparatus, wherein, during the training process, the length of the platform from the toe as far as the front edge of the platform is gradually increased within the limits of 100 to 350 mm while the length of the platform from the heel as far as the rear edge of the platform is gradually increased within the limits of 50 to 150 mm.
