<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compression/encryption techniques with which an encrypted text with high secrecy can be generated. <P>SOLUTION: In a compression/encryption apparatus, inputted data are separated into secret data, which are needed to be secret, and non-secret data which are not needed to be secret. The non-secret data are compressed to generate a non-secret block. On the other hand, the secret data are made into a secret block indicating the secret data, without being compressed. The generated non-secret block and secret block are connected, and connected data are generated.
