<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately maintain a power saving state in a device or restore the device from the state. <P>SOLUTION: A communication device capable of adding a communication control program for controlling communication includes: an automatic response means for executing a response to received data in the power saving state in place of the communication control program; and a setting means for collecting automatic response information 1110 including a condition of received data for response by the automatic response means and response data contained in the response from the communication control program and for setting the automatic response information in the automatic response means.
