<p>To allow rowers to train without the need for a river or other water course, the invention provides a motion-resistance unit 11 for a rowing simulator 12, comprising an upwardly open container for a fluid and means for defining a path for the fluid. The fluid may flow in a closed recirculating path. Also disclosed is a rowing simulator which comprises an oar and an upwardly open container of fluid for receiving a blade of the oar in use, in which the container comprises a flexible membrane 13 to provide a vessel for receiving the fluid.</p> |
