<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head which can obtain a larger quantity of emitted light by using a simple constitution and which can prolong the life of an element, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the line head. <P>SOLUTION: The line head 1 has a plurality of aligned light-emitting dots 3, makes the direction of the alignment of the plurality of light-emitting dots 3 arranged in parallel with the rotating shaft of a photo-conductor drum, and exposes the photo conductor drum to light. Each of the plurality of light emitting dots 3 is equipped with a plurality of light emitting elements 9a and 9b which are juxtaposed on a transparent substrate 2a, and a light emitting part 10 for emitting the light, emitted from the plurality of light emitting elements 9a and 9b, to the photo conductor drum in a part of the transparent substrate 2a, in a part of the transparent substrate 2a.
