<p>A process of treating hydrogen gas liberated from the acid or alkaline dissolution of a metal is provided. The process comprises a step of passing the liberated hydrogen gas through a reactor containing an oxidising agent for oxidation of the hydrogen gas into water, followed by a step of regenerating the oxidising agent. Also provided is an apparatus for carrying out the process, the apparatus comprising a reactor containing the oxidising agent, wherein the reactor is at least partially immersed in an alumina bath.</p> |
