PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for saving stand-by electric power is provided to solve user inconvenience by performing a standby power while an electron device is operated. CONSTITUTION: A power measurement unit(110) measures power consumption of an electronic device. A standby mode determination unit(130) whether the power consumption is less than a predetermined set value and is maintained for a predetermined time. A switch(150) intercepts the power supply to the electronic device if the standby mode determination unit satisfies a standby mode.
