<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a fuel cell having relatively small internal resistance by a simple manufacturing process. <P>SOLUTION: In manufacturing the fuel cell, first gas diffusion members 33 and 35, out of a plurality of gas diffusion members having gas permeability and constituting a gas diffusion layer, to be arranged so as to adjoin separators 24 and 25 are first jointed to the separators 24 and 25. Second gas diffusion members 34 and 36, out of the plurality of gas diffusion members, to be arranged so as to adjoin an electrolyte layer 30 are jointed to the electrolyte layer 30 by interlaying catalyst layers 31 and 32 having activity for facilitating reaction. Thereafter, the electrolyte layer, the plurality of gas diffusion members, and the separators are stacked in a predetermined order without jointing at least part of the gas diffusion members to each other. Thus, the fuel cell provided with the electrolyte layer, the gas diffusion layer sandwiching the electrolyte layer and the separators arranged outside the gas diffusion layers is manufactured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
