Introducing electrically conductive particles into a surface layer (1, 2), comprising polycarbonate, comprises: (a) providing a preparation of non-aggregated carbon particles having an average particle diameter of 0.3-3000 nm in a solvent, which causes the surface layer to swell; (b) contacting the surface layer with the preparation of the carbon particles; and (c) interacting the preparation of carbon particles on the surface layer for a time period of 0.1 seconds to 30 minutes. An independent claim is included for a polycarbonate article, obtained from the above method, comprising the electrically conductive carbon particles comprising surface layer, where the carbon particles is arranged in the polycarbonate up to a depth of = 150 mu below the surface.
