Apparatus (10,fig 1A) for use in mounting an offshore structure 14 on an offshore support base 28 comprises a first supporting component 12 operatively attachable to a lower part of the offshore structure and a cushioning arrangement (20, 22, 24) operatively disposed between the first supporting component and the offshore support base and operable to hold the offshore structure in a spaced apart relation from the offshore support base. The cushioning arrangement is also operable to lower the first supporting component carrying the offshore structure until the offshore structure is mounted on the offshore support base. A system and method for using the apparatus incorporating a crane 32 to lift the offshore structure and apparatus onto the offshore support base is also disclosed. |
