摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery capable of restraining dissolution of a positive electrode constituent element to an electrolyte even during high-temperature storage, and of preventing the performance degradation of a carbonaceous negative electrode, and having high capacity, high energy density and excellent charge-discharge cycle performance in relation to a battery using a lithium-manganese composite oxide for its positive electrode. SOLUTION: This lithium secondary battery uses a lithium-manganese composite oxide composed by replacing part of Mn thereof with at least an element M and Li for the positive electrode. The purpose can be accomplished by selecting the element M from elements having a property passivating the oxide or hydroxide of the element M in the organic electrolyte used in the lithium secondary battery.
