PURPOSE: An ultrasound system and a method for setting a transmission frequency of an ultrasonic signal are provided to adaptively set the transmission frequency of the ultrasonic signal by considering a steering angle of a scan line and the depth of an object. CONSTITUTION: A storage unit(110) stores transmission frequency information according to the steering angle of a scan line and the depth of an object. A transceiver(120) sets the transmission frequency of an ultrasonic signal using the transmission frequency information.
