PURPOSE: A light emitting diode including a light transmitting substrate is provided to reduce production costs by using a substrate passing a light in red region. CONSTITUTION: A substrate has transmittance of one light in a red region. A first type semiconductor layer(22) is arranged on a substrate. An active layer is arranged in the first type semiconductor layer and has multiple quantum dots. A second type semiconductor layer(26) is arranged in the active layer which has a barrier and a quantum dot layer The barrier and the quantum dot layer are laminated alternatively.
