Optical switching system for a telephone, telephone and method for installing a switching system into a telephone

The optical switching system has a light guiding unit (2) for guiding of light, a transmission unit (3) for transmission of light and a detector unit (4) for receiving a portion of the transmitted light. The light guiding unit and the transmission unit or the detector unit are formed as separate components, which are separately mounted into a telephone set (1) for the formation of a light barrier. The light guiding unit is provided as an injection molding unit that is made of a transparent plastic, for e.g. polycarbonate or polymethyl methacrylate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a telephone set, which has an electronic assembly; and (2) a method for the installation of optical switching system.
