1411606 Oligomerizing ethylene SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 15 Dec 1972 [13 Jan 1972] 58024/72 Heading C5E [Also in Division C2] Ethylene oligomers are obtained by charging NiCl 2 .6H 2 O, o-diphenylphosphinobenzoic acid (prepared from sodium diphenylphosphide, phenyl sodium and o-chlorobenzoic acid in specified manner) and 1,4-butanediol into an autoclave, pressurizing the autoclave to 36 atmospheres by means of ethylene, adding a solution of sodium borohydroxide in dimethylacetamide, raising the ethylene pressure to 78 atmospheres and finally heating to 75‹ C. while maintaining the pressure by continual addition of ethylene. |
