<p>1411585 Catalyst for production of allyl acetate HOECHST AG 7 Dec 1972 [7 Dec 1971] 56422/72 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] Catalysts used in the manufacture of allyl acetate from propylene and acetic acid in the presence of O 2 and in the gaseous phase at 0-300‹C and 0-35 atmospheres gauge, comprise Pd, an alkali metal acetate and from 0.1 to 20% by weight, calculated on the weight of total catalyst, or one or more Cu and/or V complexes of a compund of formula: in which R and R<SP>1</SP>, which may be the same or different, each represents an aliphatic or aromatic radical. Examples prepare and use catalysts comprising silicic acid carrier impregnated with palladium (II) acetate, potassium acetate and one or more of copper acetylacetonate, copper benzoylacetonate, copper acetoacetic ester, vanadyl acetylacetonate and vanadium (III) acetylacetonate. Comparative catalysts use in place of the above-mentioned Cu and/or V complexes, copper acetate, copper salicylate, cupric chloride, copper citrate, ammonium vanadate and vanadyl sulphate.</p> |
