PURPOSE: A robot cleaner having a power cable is provided to precisely clean a predetermined space while avoiding the power cable. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a robot cleaner having a power cable comprises a power unit(110), a perception unit(120), and a control unit(130). The poser unit connected to a power source cable supplies power to the robot cleaner. The perception unit senses the object existing within the cleaning area. The control unit performs cleaning operation while avoiding an obstacle, if the obstacle is sensed by the perception unit.
