PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the consumption of a battery caused by consecutive failures in position registration processing. SOLUTION: The position registration control method includes: a step S107 of inhibiting idle hand-off when the position registration processing by a mobile station apparatus adopting the CDMA system recognizes a registration failure in a step S106; a step S108 of shifting to a position registration wait sleep state (ST 10) wherein transmission and reception operations of the mobile station apparatus are paused at a prescribed interval; and a step of resuming the position registration processing according to a prescribed criterion and a step of newly acquiring a pilot signal at the processing resume when a sleep timer set in the step S108 expires (shown in other Figure).
