PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for providing navigation suitable for a vehicle and its use surroundings in a small amount of data. SOLUTION: The car navigation system 1 in which vehicle information held by a vehicle 2 is obtained via onboard LAN to put a processing program 19 for realizing navigation functions in a set condition appropriate to the vehicle information, includes a vehicle information acquisition means 14 for acquiring the vehicle information. The processing program 19 displays character strings on a display part by rotating them in response to regional information, language information and steering position information included in the vehicle information obtained by the vehicle information acquisition means 14.
