The present invention relates to a safety connector for a securing rod (2) of a bicycle mudguard (1), comprising two connecting means (4), (5) which can be coupled and form part of or can be connected to the securing rod (2) and to a bicycle component fixed to the frame, respectively, in which the connection is non-releasable in a position of use and in a rotated position at a rotation angle which is smaller than a release angle (²), and is released when the connecting means (4), (5) are rotated with respect to one another through an angle which is at least equal to the release angle (²).
